Ria Arvind Barde, a Bangladeshi adult film actress, was arrested on Thursday in Ulhasnagar, Thane district of Maharashtra, for staying illegally in India using forged documents, officials told the news agency PTI.
The Hill Line Police in Ulhasnagar received a tip-off about Ria Barde’s identity and her involvement in a case of fraud and forgery, after which an FIR was registered against her under various sections of the IPC related to cheating, forgery, and common intent, along with the Foreigners Act.

According to the police report, the investigation into Ria Barde’s identity began a year ago, revealing that her birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport listed three different places of birth—North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, Hooghly, and Achalpur in Amravati district, Maharashtra.
It is alleged that Ria Barde not only forged her own documents but also conspired to obtain a fake education certificate and passport for one of her associates. This week, Ria Barde was among the eight others arrested in Maharashtra where Bangladeshi nationals were residing illegally in India.

Ria Barde was staying illegally in India with her mother Anjali Barde, also known as Ruby Sheikh, her brother Ravindra/Riyaz Sheikh, and her sister Ritu/Moni Sheikh.
Police officials told the Times of India that her mother married Arvind Barde from Amravati so that they could continue living in the country.
Currently, Ria’s father and mother are residing in Qatar, according to the police, although her siblings are yet to be found.
Career
Police told the Times of India that Ria Barde was an adult film actress who was involved in projects produced by Raj Kundra. She had also worked on several films with actress Gehana Vasisth.
According to the film site IMDb, she is well known for her work in a film titled Amras (2023).
Ria Barde had previously been arrested by the police in Mumbai in a prostitution-related case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
